Easily accessible by road. 

We have parking directly outside the cottage for 1 x small / medium vehicle, up to 5m in length. We can advise of some nearby parking for larger or additional vehicles. For the safety and enjoyment of guests and our community neighbours, it is important guests park in the correct space and as advised by us, to ensure vehicular rights of way are not hindered.

The Isle of Portland is connected to the mainland via a short bridge that leads onto the only road on and off the island. There are no toll charges. Once you get onto the beach road, the cottage will be about a 15 minute drive up and across the island, all the way to the very end, to Portland Bill Road.

"The Three Kings" pub is at the start of Portland Bill Road. Follow this road all the way along. You will see two lighthouses. When you see a plain white lighthouse - keep going ... you will then come to a pub "The Pulpit Inn". Look for the white cottages opposite the pub. This is where BillWatch cottage is located. 

We will send you full, precise directions to the cottage, with where and how to park, a few days before your trip, as well as an instructional video link. 

Check In: We meet with all our guests on arrival as it is a uniquely quirky little community, and we like to induct our visitors to ensure their stay is as easy and as restful as possible for all guests, as well as members of this unique little community. We will then leave you to enjoy everything this splendid area has to offer, but we only live a few minutes up the road should you need any support during your stay. 

Check in is from 16:00, however if the cottage is ready sooner, we will contact you to let you know you can arrive earlier. Check out is 10:00am.

Train & Taxi

The nearest train station is Weymouth train station, approximately 9 miles from the cottage, and a 25 minute taxi ride. There is a 24/7 taxi rank immediately opposite Weymouth train station. 

From Mainland Europe

If you are coming from Mainland Europe, we are about 1 Hour 15 minutes drive from Brittany ferries port in Poole, or 2.5 hours from Brittany Ferries port in Plymouth. We're also about 1 hour 30 minute drive from Bournemouth airport, or 1 hour 40 minute drive from Exeter airport.

Cycling

If you wish to bring bicycles with you, these can be stored in the private enclosed garden, which are likely to be very safe, but please bring your own padlocks and chains to secure these. 

Electric Vehicles

Sorry, no electric vehicles can be charged on site (at present) and guests must not attempt to charge by plugging a cable into the house. This is prohibited under the terms of our insurance. 

The nearest places for electric vehicle charging are Tesco Superstore Portland (approximately 6 minute drive) and the Shell garage at the bottom of the island (approximately 12 minute drive)
